Four Hawk Day Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Oct-2012
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh, tight and elegantly proportioned with concentrated aromas of passionfruit and English gooseberries, lifted with some fermentation esters, white florals and honeysuckle. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, subtly succulent fruit flavours of passionfruit and grassy, gooseberry flavours form a smooth core and flowing palate. The acidity is perfect for balance and energy and carry the flavours to a soft, gentle, lingering finish. This is a classical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with a smooth succulence. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. MS clone Sauvignon Blanc from the Landon-Lane/Janssen family vineyard in the Waihopi, stainless-steel fermented to 12.9% alc. and 4.6 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. 18.0/20 Oct 2012 RRP $22.00
