Forrest ‘The Doctors’ Marlborough St Laurent 2012

Other Red from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Sep-2013
Dark, deep, black-red colour with light purple hues on rim. The bouquet is softly rich with an array of fruity aromas, showing dark raspberry fruit with earthy plums and liquorice, and savoury, red cherry jam, lifted with red florals. Light to medium bodied, up-front and bold flavours of dark red plums and berry fruit unfold waves of savour cherry and jam notes, along with liquorice and Asian spices. The tannin extraction is modest and the mouthfeel supple, juicy, smooth and lively with fresh acidity in support. The elegant core provides linearity, leading the flavours to a lush and lacy, acid-driven finish with lingering earth and spice nuances. This is a flavoursome St Laurent with plum and savoury jam flavours, and a light, supple, refreshing mouthfeel. Match with Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4 years. Marlborough fruit fermented to 10.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 25% new French oak barrels. 17.5-/20 Aug 2013 RRP $25.00
