Forrest ‘The Doctors’ Marlborough Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Feb-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The bouquet is delicate and refined with pure lime and lemon fruit aromas offering a citrus tang, along with harmoniously melded minerals and mouthwatering chalky, saline elements. Medium in sweetness and light-bodied, subtly lich rime and lemon fruit flavours show a delicate succulence, with clear-cut purity. The palate is very fine and softly textures with thirst-quenching mineral undertones and very fine acidity at the core. The mouthfeel is very smooth and tight, flowing seamlessly, revealing honeysuckle nuances. The flavours and nuances blossom on the long and sustained, chalky-minerally finish. This is a soft, refined and tightly bound medium Riesling with delicacy, poise and mouthwatering minerality. Serve as an aperitif, with subtle seafood and fine Asian fare. It will develop well and with greater interest over the next 5-6+ years. Fruit from the ‘Conders Bend’ site, hand-picked and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 8.5% alc. and 33 g/L RS, TA 8.9 g/L and pH 2.95. 18.5+/20 Feb 2014 RRP $22.00
