Forrest ‘The Doctors’ Marlborough Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Dec-2012
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The bouquet is very elegant and delicate with beautifully fine aromas of white florals, acacia and honeysuckle, unfolding to reveal nuances of limes, fresh herbs and minerals. Medium in sweetness, the fruit flavours of white florals and honeysuckle are expressed with delicacy and purity. The mouthfeel is soft, smooth and quite lush through mid-palate, the sweetness balanced by slippery, racy acidity that provides cut and line. The flavours are subtly detailed, with nuances of herbs and minerals and carry through to a long and sustained finish that suggests unctuousness. This is a medium and delicately flavoured Riesling of great clarity, with slippery and soft textures. It will develop considerably more complex flavours over the next 4-6 years. Serve as an aperitif, or with mildly spicy Asian cuisine. Made in the Mosel Kabinett style from fruit from the ‘Conders Bend' site, fermented to 8.5% alc. and 31.6 g/L rs. 18.5/20 Dec 2012 RRP $22.00
