Forrest ‘The Doctors’ Marlborough Gruner Veltliner 2010

Gruner Veltliner from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Mar-2011
This is the first release of a Gruner Veltliner from the Forrests, and it supports the releases of Gisborne fruited wines from Coopers Creek, Kim Crawford and Heart of Gold by Spade Oak. Made from fruit grown on the Condors Bend vineyard in the Wairau Valley, fermented to 13.4% alc, leaving 8.5 g/L rs. Pale straw in colour, this has a particularly attractive, aromatic bouquet, lifted by youthful fermentation esters over the floral, green stonefruit, pepper and herb components on the nose. Off dry to taste, this echoes the nose with lovely florals on a soft, rounded palate with moderate acidity. This will be one to enjoy in the next two years. 17.5-/20 Oct 2010 RRP $25.00
