Forrest ‘The Doctors’ Marlborough Arneis 2012

Arneis from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Dec-2012
Fifth crop of this northern Piedmont variety, planted in the ‘Gibson's Creek' site and fermented to 12.2% alc. and 2.7 g/L rs. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The bouquet is softly concentrated with subtle and intriguing aromas of white florals entwined with exotic musky elements, herbs and nuts. The aromatics build in volume with air time. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has good weight and presence, the palate revealing attractive white florals and subtle spices, along with musk. The texture is soft, with discreet acidity providing some tension. This has good palate line, which carries the delicate flavours to a dry finish with good intensity and length. This dry Arneis has subtle spice and musk flavours and a soft, weighty palate. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 18.0/20 Dec 2012 RRP $25.00
