Forrest Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Jan-2014
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is finely presented with intense and deep aromas of passionfruit and minerals, promising to open up with interest and detail. Dry to taste, the palate is tightly concentrated with a core of passionfruit flavours infused with minerals and flint. A smooth-flowing and softly-textured mouthfeel is the feature, with excellent acid balance providing freshness and restraint to the pungency. This has an underlying liveliness and drive that carries the flavours to a soft, gently lingering finish. This is a tight, dry and smooth flowing Sauvignon Blanc that will develop greater richness over the next 2+ years. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare. Fruit from 4 sites around Renwick, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 4 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Jan 2014 RRP $22.00
