Forrest Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Mar-2011
Forrest Estate is rapidly gaining momentum with this variety. Medium depp ruby-red with light garnet hues to the colour, this has a fine, deep nose of fragrant raspberry fruit with cherry liqueur, liquorice, dried herbs and spicy, cedary oak. Fine-grained and tightly bound, this is an elegantly proportioned wine with intense raspberry and cherry fruits, vibrant, braced with acidity and sinewy in texture from fine-grained tannins. Time in glass sees savoury, meat and herb elements add to the interest. Made from hand-picked fruit fermented to 13.3% alc., the wine aged for 12 months in 20% new French oak barriques. Drink over 4-5+ years with poultry, pork, Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. 17.5+/20 Mar 2011 RRP $25.00
