Forrest Marlborough Chenin Blanc 2009

Chenin Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Mar-2011
This is Forrest's fourth Chenin Blanc since 2001 and the only Marlborough example of this varietal. Inspired by the Vouvray wines of the Loire, this has a very pale straw colour with a youthful pale edge, this has an tight, intense nose of white stonefruits, minerals, white florals, herbs and flinty lees work showing. Medium dryish to taste, this has a sleek, linear palate of white stonefruits, steel, with subtle citrus and honeysuckle flavours, combining smooth slippery textures with subtle richness and crisp, racy acidity. The wine is tight and slender in proportion at this stage, but will become more fulsome and complex with bottle aging. Keep for 4-6+ years. Fruit from the home vineyard fermented to 12.4% alc. and 13.4 g/L rs. Serve with antipasto, seafood, Asian cuisine and creamy cheeses. 17.0+/20 Mar 2011 RRP $25.00
