Forrest Malbec 2021, Marlborough

Malbec from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-May-2022
Deep, rich, inky purple, lighter on the rim. The nose is full, joyful and rich with bramble and plums, along with spice, coffee and iron. Full-bodied, bramble and plums aromas enriched by dark chocolate, coffee and allspice. The fruit is succulent, and coffee and chocolate richness allure. Fine-grained tannin structured a fine frame and velvety texture, lends a broody, mealy closing. This is a satisfying Malbec with succulent fruit, rich details and a mouth-filling palate. Match with grilled meat and venison over the next 5+ years. Fruit from Home Block vineyard, 35-year-old vines, 14% alc. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) May 2022 RRP $35
