Forrest Albarino 2021, Marlborough

Albarino from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Aug-2021
Bright, pale yellow with some depth, even colour throughout. The nose is fresh, nuances of stonefruit, pear melded with oyster shells, a hint of floral and slick spice. Medium-light bodied, aromas of ripe peach, nectarine and pear have good concentration, interweave sweet floral, prickly spice linger with oyster shells and salinity. The mouthfeel is coated in chalk; mouthwatering acidity balanced with ripe fruit leaves a fulsome finish. This is a mineral-driven Albarino that possesses ripe and concentrated stonefruit and salinity. Match with salt & pepper squid and fish tacos over the next 3 years. Cool fermented in stainless steel tank to 13.5%alc. Vegan friendly. 18/20 pts (90 pts) Aug 2021 RRP $28
