Folium ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Apr-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow, near colourless on the edge. This has a very fresh and finely expressed, tightly bound nose of white stonefruits, white florals and subtle notes of gooseberry fruit along with intricate and delicate mineral and flinty detail. The aromatics build in depth in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, refined but succulently rich and sweet fruit flavours of gooseberries, white stonefruits, florals, fresh herbs and mouthwatering minerals feature on the palate. This has a very fine-textured core and the wine has tension, drive and linearity. The richness and liveliness is enhanced by juicy, thirst-quenching acidity that leads to a long, lingering sweetly nuanced finish. This is a very elegant, succulently sweet-fruited Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of gooseberries, white stonefruits, florals and minerals, underlined by fine acidity. Match with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from 0.9 ha, vines planted in 1996, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.9% alc., the wine aged 8 months on lees. 596 dozen made. 18.5/20 Apr 2016 RRP $34.00
