Folium ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Apr-2016
Full, even, dark ruby-red colour with slight purple hues. The bouquet is finely concentrated with vibrant and bright, ripe aromas of dark raspberry fruit along with dark red florals, nutty oak and nuances of earth and minerals at the core. Medium-full bodied, the palate features rich and lush, ripe fruit flavours of dark raspberries and red berryfruits, along with dark herb, floral and nutty oak elements. The fruit expression has a stylish restraint and is supported by fine-grained tannins providing a refined, flowing mouthfeel. Integrated acidity adds to the richness and the wine carries to a long, textured finish with raspberry, nutty and herb elements. This is a stylishly rich Pinot Noir with herb and nutty detail and good structure and presence. Match with casseroles and game meat dishes over the next 5-6+ years. Fruit from 0.6 ha, vines planted in 1996, indigenous yeast fermented to 13.7% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 25% new French oak. 203 dozen made. 18.0+/20 Apr 2016 RRP $49.00
