Flying Sheep Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 02-Nov-2012
99% Pinot Gris and 1% Gewurztraminer fermented to 13.65% alc. and 3.0 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The nose is soft and fresh, voluminous with aromas of white stonefruits, ripe pears and honeysuckle, along with hints of minerals. Dryish to taste, this is softly open and gently mouthfilling with flavours of pears, white stonefruits and florals. Soft in mouthfeel, low acidity adds to the rounded textures and breadth on palate. A little alcohol is noticeable, driving the flavours to a soft, even and harmonious, dry finish. This is an attractively harmonious and soft-textured Pinot Gris to match with Mediterranean cuisine over the next 3 years. 17.0+/20 Nov 2012 RRP $22.99
