Flowers Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2008

Chardonnay from USA
Review Date : 03-Aug-2011
This has a bright, light-golden straw colour, quite full. The nose is full, but still tight in expression, but packed with ripe tropical, peach and citrussy fruit aromas along with mealy, nutty elements. A full, rich and succulently fruity wine, tropical fruits and melon flavours show with mealy, nutty interest. Excellent acidity provides a line of freshness and balance. The wine has a softness and fleshiness that enables immediate accessibility, but this will develop over the next 3-4+ years. Fully barrel-fermented by native yeasts to 14.1% alc., the wine aged 8 months in 19% new French oak barrels, with around 40% MLF.  Aug 2011
