Fifth Bridge Central Otago Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 01-May-2017
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is soft and light with aromas of red cherry fruit entwined with subtle herb notes, unveiling red florals and hints of spice. The aromatics build to form a rounded, gentle core. Medium-bodied, the palate has gently rich flavours of red cherries and spice elements along with herb detail that form an even, rounded and smooth core. The fruit is supported by light, supple tannin extraction, and enlivened by balancing, lacy acidity. The wine flows easily and the fruit sweetness carries with moderate linearity to a soft, gentle finish of spiced cherry fruit and herbs. This is a gently rich, accessible Pinot Noir with red cherry, spice and herb flavours on a fresh, supple palate. Serve with poultry, pork, pasta and risotto over the next 3+ years. Cromwell Basin fruit, clones including 5, 6, 10/5, 115 and 777, vines 12-18 y.o., indigenous yeast fermented with approx. 10% whole bunches to 14.0 % alc., the wine aged 11 months in 20% new oak. 16.5+/20 May 2017 RRP $28.00
