Fiddler’s Green Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 20-Jul-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is light in expression with fine proportions, showing soft and subtle, clean aromas of gooseberry fruit with fresh herb notes and a suggestion of minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit is reserved, but aromatic and succulent with flavours of gooseberries, along with tropical fruits, fresh herbs and mineral notes. The mouthfeel is refreshingly crisp and bright from the lacy acidity, with some underlying alcohol drive lending linearity. The wine carries to a soft, dry, fine-textured finish with light gooseberry and mineral flavours. This is a light, gently succulent Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Stirling’ and ‘Church Road’ vineyards, cool-fermented to 14.0% alc. and 1.5 g/L RS, the wine given 2 months lees contact. 16.5/20 Jul 2016 RRP $19.99
