Fiddler’s Green Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 31-May-2015
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour with light lemon-green hues, pale on rim. The nose is elegantly presented with tight and penetrating aromas of white florals, green stonefruits and gooseberries, revealing cool-spectrum herb and nettle notes, then fresh lantana and tropical fruits. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a fine core of white florals, citrus fruits, herbs and tropical fruits. The array of flavours is attractive and beguiling. The mouthfeel is softly refreshing with lacy acidity alongside a gentle phenolic line, and the wine flows to a soft, lush, aromatic finish with fine textures. This is an elegantly concentrated, soft and lush Sauvignon Blanc with an array of aromatic fruit flavours. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Fiddler’s Green’ vineyard on Georges Road, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc., the wine aged on lees. 17.5/20 May 2015 RRP $20.00
