Fiddler’s Green Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 18-Apr-2012
Bright straw-yellow colour with green hues, pale on edge. The nose is light and elegant with aromas of gooseberries, tropical fruits and fragrant herbs lifted with floral notes. Medium-light weighted, this shows subtle, delicate gooseberry and herb fruit flavours in the cooler spectrum. The mouthfeel is slender with a fine firmness, building with some presence. Crisp acidity provides linearity and drive to a tight, minerally finish with moderate length. This is an elegant Sauvignon Blanc with a crisp minerality. Serve with shellfish and subtle Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Fiddler's Green' vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 4.5 g/L rs, the wine given extended lees contact. 16.5+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $ 21.00
