Ferraton ‘Samorens’ Cotes du Rhone 2008

Grenache from France - Rhone
Review Date : 09-May-2011
Deep ruby-red colour with a good heart, this is full and broad on the nose with moderately deep aromas of savoury red berry fruits, brown spices, dried herbs and earth. This has some interest and complexity. Restrained in flavour expression, the palate has good weight and textural presence, the soft, red fruits, game and bramble flavours unfolding in the glass. The soft, drying tannins will make this a good match with casseroles, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern red meat dishes over the next 3-5 years. 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Cinsault from the Sablet and Seguret communes on the left bank of the Rhone. 16.0-/20 May 2011 RRP $25.75
