Fernhook Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Jan-2019
Bright, light golden hued straw-yellow colour, paler on the rim. The nose is fresh with softly full aromas of pungent passionfruit, tropical fruits and fresh herbs interwoven with subtle mineral notes. The aromatics have a degree of ethereal gentleness. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is softly fresh with moderately deep flavours of passionfruit, tropical fruit and fresh herbs. The mouthfeel is fresh with very fine phenolic textures, providing good structure, and the acidity is fresh and balanced. The flavours form a soft, fine core with good linearity and the wine carries to a long, soft, lingering finish. This is a softly presented passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with gentle tropical fruit and fresh herb flavours on a palate with fine textures and refreshing acidity, and good linearity. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from elevated vineyards in the Fairhall district, cool-fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 2.3 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Jan 2019 RRP $16.95
