Fernhook Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Feb-2018
Bright pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is softly full and gently voluminous with deep, fresh aromas of passionfruit and tropical fruit along with fresh herb notes and nuances of cooler-spectrum cut-grass elements. This is refreshing and mouthwatering. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a tight core with good depth of passionfruit, tropical fruit and cut-grass flavours, along with fresh herbs and nettles. The fruit richness is enlivened by brisk acidity and a light textural thread underlines the wine. The dry, mouthwatering textures carry the wine to a moderately long finish. This is a crisp and zesty Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, herb and cut-grass flavours and a dry, phenolic-threaded line that carries the wine. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from hillside vineyards in the Fairhall district, cool-fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Feb 2018 RRP $16.95
