Fern Ridge Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 02-Feb-2016
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush. The nose is very fresh with intense and penetrating, fragrant aromas of exotic florals and delicate white stonefruit elements. This has clarity and purity of expression. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, this is slender in proportion with flavours of white stonefruits and florals, along with subtle honeysuckle and herbal notes. The fruit has some richness and sweetness and is balanced by fresh, lacy acidity which enlivens the mouthfeel. The wine flows smoothly, the acidity carrying the wine to a crisp, aromatic finish with florals and honeysuckle. This is an elegant and slender, off-dry Pinot Gris with aromatic fruit and a crisp and lively mouthfeel. Serve with seafood and Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from Hawke’s Bay high country sites cool-fermented to 13.0% lc. and 6.2 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $18.99
