Felton Road ‘Block 3′ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 17-Sep-2012
Predominantly 10/5 clone fruit from ‘Block 3' on ‘The Elms' vineyard fermented with 20% whole clusters to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 13 months in French oak. Full, dark ruby-red colour with some purple. This is firm and intense on bouquet with excellent depth of dark cherry, spicy plum and thyme herb aromas building with volume. Full-bodied, this is rich and lush on palate with mouthfilling flavours of dark cherries and berries, and dark herbs, framed with significant extract and structure. This has an openness and approachability, but the grip and underlying drive and grip provides good power and texture. A classical ‘Block 3' that will develop over 6-8+ years. 19.0/20 Sep 2012 RRP $85.00
