Felton Road ‘Bannockburn’ Central Otago Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 17-Sep-2012
☆☆☆☆☆
Fruit from the ‘Calvert' and ‘The Elms' vineyards, from Lochar soils, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented to 8.5% alc. and 64 g/L rs, with a TA of 9.6 g/L. Very pale straw with some green hues, near colourless. This has a voluminous but subtly expressed nose of limes, apples and honeysuckle, along with some flinty reductive elements. Medium-sweet to taste, delicate citrus and exotic floral fruit flavours intermingle with honey notes and some reductive minerally characters. This has delicacy with a soft lusciousness and a very fine textural thread balancing the succulence. The wine should show even greater interest over the next 4-5+ years. 18.5/20 Sep 2012 RRP $33.00
