Farmers Market Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Sep-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with some depth and a suggestion of blush, paler on the rim. This has a fresh nose with up-front aromas of yellow stonefruits, pears and lifted exotic florals, unfolding subtle honeysuckle and herbal elements. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate features gently mouthfilling flavours of yellow stonefruits and pears with exotic floral notes. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded with a smooth flow, the wine following a fine underlying phenolic line. Some alcohol power and dive lends energy and the wine carries to a long, well-flavoured finish of stonefruits and florals. This is an up-front, gently mouthfilling dryish Pinot Gris with stonefruit and exotic floral flavours and some underlying power and drive. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 2-3 years. Marlborough fruit fermented to 13.5% alc. 17.0/20 Sep 2016 RRP $15.99
