Falconhead Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Aug-2014
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is softly aromatic and evenly presented, with restrained, clean, white and yellow florals harmoniously melded with gooseberry fruit and yellow capsicums, the bouquet growing in depth with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of ripe stonefruits, gooseberries and herbs are a restrained in expression. The mouthfeel is round and dry, with soft acidity and an underlying textured, phenolic care and line that carries the wine to a light-flavoured, but vinous finish. This is a soft, up-front Sauvignon Blanc with stonefruit and gooseberry flavours carried by a dry, textured line. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Awatere and Wairau Valleys, the juice transported to the company’s winery in Katikati, and fermented to 13.0% alc. 16.5+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $15.99
