Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Combe Aux Moines’ 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 09-Feb-2012
Light ruby-red colour, with some garnet hues. The nose is a little raw and four-square with aromas of dark berry fruits, dark herbs and earthy-animal complexities showing with subtlety. Despite seeming unsettled on nose, the palate is soft, full, accessible and plump with soft textures. The fruit sits in the background of the palate, allowing the fine-grained tannins come to the fore. Gentle layers of flavour, soft red fruits with a little undergrowth emerge, though tending to lack a little brightness. Drink over the next 5-7+ years.  Feb 2012  RRP $127.00
