Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 29-Apr-2012
Three parcels totalling 1.29 ha. Moderately deep, garnet-hued red, a little lighter on rim. This has a full, open nose, quite solid and robust with red fruits, herbal and stalk notes. forest floor and a little reduction. This seems somewhat coarse and forward on bouquet. On palate, this is fulsome, soft and plump, with appealing rich, lush and juicy savoury red berry fruits. The mouthfeel is soft and open, quite accessible, but there is good tannin structure and grip supporting the fleshiness. Despite the aromatics, the succulence and balanced extraction makes this a wine that will be enjoyable throughout its life over the next 7-9+ years. 18.5+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $250.00
