Fairhall Downs ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Feb-2012
Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on edge. The bouquet is soft and full with ripe aromas of tropical fruits and gooseberries and hints of passionfruit lifted by white florals and fresh fermentation esters. Dry, this has good body and fruit weight with deep flavours of gooseberries and passionfruit providing density and very fine textures. The acidity is bright and racy and enhances the flavours filling the palate, and carries a long lingering finish with pungent notes. Fruit from the ‘Fairhall Downs' vineyard fermented with 10% in French barriques to 14.0% alc. and 0.9 g/L rs. A well-balanced Sauvignon Blanc with body and zestiness to match with firm seafood, chicken and turkey over the next 2-3+ years. 18.5-/20 Feb 2012 RRP $19.95
