Fairbourne Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Sep-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is very elegant and tightly bound with refined detail, showing white stonefruits and white florals interwoven with delicate herbal and subtle gooseberry and green stonefruit notes, unveiling nutty and mineral suggestions. The presentation is subtle and stylish. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is very elegant and refined, with a tightly concentrated core of white stonefruits, subtly expressed fresh herbs and gooseberry elements. The fruit is complexed by an amalgam of minerals, nuts and florals. The palate line is very fine-featured with balanced, integrated acidity, and the wine flows with linearity carrying to a long, delicate finish with savoury herb, stonefruit and chalky mineral flavours. This is a very tight and elegant, refined Sauvignon Blanc with white stonefruit, herb, floral and mineral detail. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit from a single, north-facing Wairau Valley site, cool-fermented in stainless-steel with a small portion in new French oak to 13.0% alc. and 1.4 g/L RS. 18.5-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $34.95
