Evenwood McLaren Vale Shiraz 2013

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 17-Feb-2015
Full, near impenetrable, black-red colour with garnet hues on the rim. This has an elegant nose with soft red berry fruit aromas lifted by red florals, unveiling dark herb, pepper, ink and subtle reductive elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate combines flavours of sweet, dark red berry fruit with bitter cherries, along with red liquorice and jammy, confectionary notes. The mouthfeel is lively with fresh acidity, and the wine flows along a firm, grainy-textured line, leading to a lifted, dry-finish. This is a lively Shiraz with red fruit, jam and herb flavours and a dry, firm, underlying structure. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian red met dishes over the next 3+ years. McLaren Vale fruit fermented to 14.5% alc. 16.0/20 Feb 2015 RRP $13.99
