Escarpment Martinborough Chardonnay 2012

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 11-Nov-2013
Bright, lemony-straw colour with slight green hues. The bouquet features white stonefruits and citrus fruit aromas with subtle layers of oak, nuts and flinty interest, revealing some sulphide complexities and a little MLF butteriness. Medium-bodied, the palate shows a citrus and stonefruit amalgam with MLF flavours, forming a fine-textured line. The palate combines richness with steely acidity and the flavours flow with acid drive to a very long finish. This is a brisk Chardonnay with attractive citrus fruit flavours melded with MLF notes. Clone 95 fruit, fully barrel-fermented with indigenous yeasts on full solids to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 15% new oak, undergoing 100% MLF. 18.0/20 Oct 2013 RRP $TBA
