Escarpment ‘Kupe’ Martinborough Chardonnay 2008

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 02-May-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with hints of gold. Full, soft and broad on bouquet, this possesses mineral, apricot kernel and stonefruit aromas with a dry earth character. Full, soft, accessible, this has an amalgam of nutty, earthy stonefruit flavours at the core of the palate. Some oxidative elements detract from the flavours and the wine is simply expressed without the proper nuance and interest expected, but carries some weight and body. Perhaps a lesser bottle?  Apr 2011
