Eradus Marlborough Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Nov-2011
The third release of a Pinot Gris from the Eradus' ‘Breloft' vineyard in the Awatere Valley, from the outstanding 2010 vintage. This was cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. Bright straw-yellow colour with a pale edge, this has a very tight, but intense bouquet of white stonefruits, flint and minerals, still to evolve and fill out. Dry to taste, the palate is clear, crisp and pure, showing mineral-infused white stonefruit flavours. There is a softness which provides a degree of lusciousness, but the fine, firm acidity stands out. While the fruit expression is still locked in, the wine has palate presence and depth. The restrained fruit flavours will open out over the next 3-4+ years. Match with antipasto, seafood and poultry over the next 3-4 years. 17.5+/20 Jul 2011 RRP $21.50
