Eradus Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Mar-2012
100% Pinot Noir from the ‘Breloft' vineyard, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 8 months in French oak barriques. Bright ruby red colour with good depth, a little lighter on rim. This has an elegant nose with fresh and fragrant aromatics of dark berry and strawberry fruit infused with fresh herbs, the bouquet with an ethereal flow. Medium-bodied, the flavours combine dark berry and cherry fruit with notes of herbs and some cooler spectrum stalk elements, and are presented with good weight and presence. Grainy tannin extraction and fresh acidity provide a linear drive and grip. The flavours become restrained and the wine finishes with drying tannin textures. This is an up-front fruity Pinot Noir with some cool spectrum elements, and a grainy texture. Match with barbecued and grilled poultry over the next 3-4 years. 16.5+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $23.00
