Eradus Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Mar-2012
100% Pinot Gris from the ‘Breloft' vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 5.5 g/L rs. Brilliant, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The aromatics are very fine and elegantly expressed, showing attractive pears, white florals and a hint of spice, the nose quite tightly bound. Dryish to taste, delicate flavours of pears, florals and honeysuckle are enhanced by a touch of spice. The flavours are underscored by fine, soft textures, providing a subtle drive and line. This combines finesse with subtle depth, and the wine finishes with pure stonefruit and honey notes on a sustained finish. This delicate and stylishly pure Pinot Gris will match Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 2-3+ years. 18.0+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $19.00
