Envoy Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Feb-2011
Dark, deep, ruby-red with subtle purple hues to the colour, this has a full, deep, brooding nose of dark plum and berry fruits with savoury herb, liquorice and tar notes. A full, solid and nearly robustly constituted wine, this has lush, sweet dark fruits lifted by floral elements and nuances of toast, spice and oak char. The palate retains a degree of style from fresh acidity and fine, seemingly understated extraction which shows its presence on the finish. Made from old 10/5 clone fruit from the ‘Johnson Estate F Block' wild yeast fermented to 14.5% alc., then aged 18 months in 60% new French oak. Serve with wild duck and red game meat over the next 5-7 years. 18.0+/20 Feb 2011 RRP $55.95
