Envoy Marlborough Noble Riesling 2010

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Feb-2011
A dessert wine with restrained decadence. Made from Riesling fruit from the ‘Johnson Estate G Block' with extensive noble rot infection picked at 36.6° Brix, fermented in old oak barrels to 8.5% alc., with 177 g/L rs, this has a light golden, straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is almost piquant and piercing with its fresh lime marmalade and apricotty-talc botrytis aromatics. On palate, this is very sweet, rich and luscious, but softly so with its full and broad mouthfilling flavours of lime marmalade and bush honey. This has a very attractive oily, unctuous texture, kept fresh by good acidity. The wine finishes with length and nuance. This will match most rich desserts, and be a delightful aperitif over the next 3-5 years. (375 ml) 18.5/20 Feb 2011 RRP $29.95
