Emmanuelle Mellot Pouilly Fume 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from France - Loire
Review Date : 20-Sep-2012
Emmannulle Mellot is the daughter of highly regarded vigneron Alphonse Mellot. Fruit from 1.8 ha, partial barrel-fermentation with 6 months on lees. Straw-yellow colour with light hues of gold. The bouquet is full and softly voluminous, with savoury gooseberry and yellow stonefruit aromas, showing oxidative handling. Dry to taste, soft, broad and openly expressed flavours of savoury stonefruits and red capsicums are cut by penetrating acidity. There is a firmness to the mouthfeel, with, but the wine is fine in texture. Nutty nuances emerge, providing a layer of interest, and the wine has a long, crisp finish. Savoury and nutty, this has a fine, firm mouthfeel. Drink over the next 3-4 years. 17.5/20 Sep 2012 RRP $56.95
