Elephant Hill Rosé 2021, Hawke’s Bay

Rosé from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 30-Nov-2021
Bright, moderate berry pink, even colour throughout. The wine has an elegant and rich appeal on the nose, succulent red berries, cranberries and stonefruit melded with white floral and spice. Medium-bodied, vibrant aromas of red berries and cranberries interweave ripe stonefruit, unfolding rich white floral and lingering spice. The mouthfeel is creamy and possesses a stony phenolic grip, adding a savoury element. Lively acidity carries opulent floral fragrances to a lengthy finish. This is a textural, juicy rosé with red fruit and rich floral aromas, a chewy palate that salivate for food accompaniment. Match with beef carpaccio and pork terrine over the next 3 years. Predominantly Syrah and a small percentage of Viognier from Gimblett Gravels and Te Awanga, pressed, limited time on skins, cool-fermented in tank to 13% alc. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Nov 2021 RRP $22
