Bright, pale yellow with a slight green sheen, even colour throughout. The nose is softly concentrated, elegantly penetrating aromas of jasmine, underlined spice, Nashi pear, lemon and apricot. Medium-full bodied, dry to taste, the textural palate possesses an oily mouthfeel and fine-textured phenolics, carrying apricot, Nashi pear and lemon curd, followed by five-spice, jasmine and apricot blossom. There's a lovely freshness of balanced, sherbety acidity, flowing with elegance and delicate details to a dry, lifted finish. This is a dry, textural Pinot Gris with thirst-quenching fruit and delicate floral and spice fusion. Match with prawn & pork won tons and Bouillabaisse over the next 3 years. A blend of 87% Pinot Gris and 13% Viognier, 100% from Te Awanaga, cool-fermented in tank to 13.5% alc, 10 months on lees with regular lees stirring. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Nov 2021 RRP $24
