Elephant Hill Le Phant Blanc 2021, Hawke’s Bay

Blended White from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 31-Jan-2023
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow. The nose is fresh, with citrus, apple, pear and a suggestion of stonefruit and melon, interweaved white floral and a touch of white spice. Medium-full bodied, vivid aromas of apple, pear and citrus peels fill the palate, unfolding melon, stonefruit and white floral. The fruit is concentrated and voluminous. The creamy mouthfeel flows along with a dusty phenolic texture and lively acidity. This is a vibrant and generous white blend with excellent concentration, acidity and texture. Match with pulled pork and baked fish over the next 3 years. Fruit from Sea vineyard in Te Awanga, a blend of 55% Pinot Gris, 45% Viognier, whole bunch pressed, fermented and aged on light lees in tank for 20 months. 13.5% alc. 18.5-/20 pts (92 pts) Jan 2023 RRP $26
