Elephant Hill Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Oct-2016
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, very light on the edge. This has a very tightly concentrated, firm and intense nose of cut grass, green stonefruits, fresh and savoury herbs, green capsicums and subtle mineral notes. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate possesses a firmly packed and concentrated core with flavours of cut grass, green stonefruits and herbs. The palate follows a light, dry, phenolic textured line, driven by underlying fresh and racy acidity. The mouthfeel has tension and linearity, and the wine leads to a lingering, finely concentrate, dry finish with grass and herb nuances. This is a tightly bound dry Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of cut grass, green stonefruits and herbs, on a firm, grainy palate with fresh acidity. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the company’s Te Awanga vineyard, WBP and cool-fermented with indigenous yeasts to 12.5% alc. and 3.3 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months on fine lees. 17.0/20 Oct 2016 RRP $22.00
