Elephant Hill Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 13-Nov-2016
Bright pale candy-floss pink with a little depth and lighter rim. The nose is delicate and detailed with aromas of pomegranate and suggestions of cranberries with red florals, watermelon, fresh herbs and thirst-quenching minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is intense with finely concentrated flavours of soft-red berry fruits, pomegranate, fresh herbs and minerals, unfolding lifted and sweet red floral notes. The fruit flavours build in richness as the wine flows, but is balanced by brisk and dry, mouthwatering acidity lending a crisp and zesty mouthfeel. The fruit follows a soft line with emerging dry phenolics that provide quenchability and mineral notes. This is a fresh, crisp, thirst-quenching dry rosé with delicate pomegranate, red floral and mineral nuances. Serve as an aperitif, with salads and vegetables and antipasto over the next 2 years. Hand-picked Tempranillo from the company’s Triangle vineyard, WBP, avoiding skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS. 18.0/20 Nov 2016 RRP $29.00
