Element Wines Gimblett Gravels Hawke’s Bay Syrah Rosé 2015

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 24-Nov-2015
Bright, near lurid crimson-pink colour with good depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh, bright and bold with aromatic cherry, strawberry and raspberry fruit aromas along with a confectionary lift. The nose has a firm steeliness and intensity that grows in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours are bright, aromatic and up-front with flavours of spiced cherries and raspberry confectionary. This has good ripeness and lusciousness, lending a sweet core. Lively acidity enhances the richness and the flavours are balanced by a light phenolic, textural line. The textures and acidity carry the wine to a long, lingering, thirst-quenching finish with aromatic fruit lift. This is a bold, up-front, raspberry and spicy cherry flavoured rosé with a refreshing palate. Match with antipasto and tapas over the next 2 years. 100% Syrah from the Gimblett Gravels, fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 3.3 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $21.00
