Dark, deep ruby-red colour with black hues and purple tints on the rim. The nose is firm and well-concentrated with aromas of dark-red plum fruit entwined with blackberries and notes of blackcurrants melded with savoury dark herbs and iron-earth mineral suggestions. Medium-full bodied and elegantly presented, the palate has a finely concentrated core of ripe blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, along with dark herbs and iron-earth notes. The fruit is fresh and vibrant and supported by moderate, fine-grained tannin extraction and fresh acidity. The palate flows with good energy and linearity, leading to an elegant finish of blackcurrants, plums and herbs. This is a finely presented Cabernet and Merlot blend with plum, blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, freshness and elegant extraction. Match with lamb and beef dishes over the next 5-6 years. A blend of approx. 48% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with 4% Syrah, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in seasoned oak. 93 dozen made. 17.5+/20 Feb 2017 RRP $25.00
