Dunnolly ‘Reserve’ Waipara Valley Chardonnay 2017

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 07-Jul-2018
Bright, even straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegant in presentation with soft aromas of white and yellow stonefruits entwined with subtle, balancing creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak unveiling a little mealy complexity. The aromatics are clear and refreshing. Medium-bodied, the palate has a tight and elegant core with delicately rich and sweet flavours of white and yellow stonefruits melded with some creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak with mealy detail. The mouthfeel is bright and crisp with acidity, and the wine flows along a fine-textured line, leading to a lingering finish of stonefruit and nutty oak. This is an elegant and refreshing Chardonnay with stonefruit and nutty oak on a bright, crisp palate with detail and interest. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 4 years. Waipara Valley fruit from the home vineyard, barrel-fermented to 13.33% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak barriques, undergoing batonnage and 40% MLF. 18.0-/20 Jul 2018 RRP $34.99
