Duc de Montgerald Cotes du Rhone Villages 2015

Blended Red from France - Rhone
Review Date : 29-Aug-2017
Ruby-red colour with some depth and slight purple hues, lighter edged. The nose is fresh and bright, but a little restrained with light primary fruit aromas of dark raspberries with spice notes, pepper and dark-red florals. Medium-full bodied, the palate is juicy and plush with sweet and fragrant dark raspberry fruit, entwined with spice and pepper, and lifted florals. The flavours are up-front and gently mouthfilling, with light tannin structure providing some grip and good support. The acidity is integrated, lending freshness to the fruit, and the wine carries to an elegant finish. This is a plush and juicy, up-front Cotes du Rhone Villages with fragrant raspberry fruit with pepper and florals on a light structured, accessible palate. Match with tapas and Mediterranean fare over the next 3 years. A blend of 50% Grenache, and 25% each Syrah and Mourvedre, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine given oak contact. 16.5/20 Aug 2017 RRP $14.99
