Dry River Martinborough Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 01-Mar-2011
Bright light straw-yellow in colour with green-gold hues, this has a youthful appearance. The bouquet is full and dense, but stylishly restrained, showing aromas of ripe nectarines and citrus fruits with exotic nuances of tropical fruits, herbs and spices. With 15 g/L rs, this is off-dry to taste. It has a full, weighty, rounded palate, with excellent richness and depth and an unctuous texture. Luscious flavours of pears, honey, florals and spices unfold and fill the mouth. Some warmth, from the 13.5% alc. and gentle acidity add to the generosity, the wine becoming denser with time in the glass. This will be a versatile wine with many seafood and most white meat dishes over the next 4-6 years. Fruit from the ‘Dry River Estate' and ‘Craighall' sites. 18.5+/20 Feb 2011 RRP $55.00
